Youth Organizations & Services
Youth Group: Our youth group is placed into two categories, 4th-8th grades and 9th -12th grades. Both groups plan many varied activities all year long. Come join us for Bible study, fun, movies, bell choir, music, special services and more. It’s a great way to make new friends! Anyone interested in joining our Youth Groups should call Tallu Smith at 859-588-1227 for 9th-12th grades, and Sharon Coppersmith at 859-298-9971 for 4th-8th grades.
Boy Scouts: First UMC is home to Boy Scout Troop 60. Troop 60 puts American flags throughout town and on deceased servicemen’s graves at the cemeteries in town on special days. They also do other projects in support of the community. Troop 60 has produced several Eagle Scout recipients – the highest honor a scout can attain. Recently, we also welcomed Cub Scout Troop 60 into sponsorship by First UMC. We're pleased to be able to support these groups as they instill positive values and useful skills in the next generation of our community's leaders.
Girl Scouts: Preparations are underway for FUMC to sponsor a local Girl Scout Troop. More information will be forthcoming.
Pre-School: First UMC conducts preschool for children ages 3-5 in the Educational Building on the first floor Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Teachers are Ginger and Heather Moore. For enrollment information, contact Ginger at 859-235-0528
